Profile
About
Abby’s passion is working with children and their families to support communication and foster loving relationships through compassion, curiosity, and courage. In her practice she utilizes techniques from Play Therapy (Child-Centered and Animal-assisted), Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. In her previous professional experiences, she created social-emotional and naturalist curriculum for children and worked collaboratively with parents and children to make desired life changes and bring healing to relationships.
Through her experiences, both professional and personal, she has found that a true kinship and connection with nature and animals can have a profound impact on perspective and wellbeing. She has seen the impacts of nature on interpersonal interactions, impulse control, curiosity, and much more.
In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, rock climbing, paddling, skiing,
and backpacking. She loves tending to the indoor and outdoor plants that live around her, cooking, playing with her dogs, and learning fun facts about nature.
Abby has worked full time at Heron Hill since 2022. Abby is a graduate of Lewis and Clark Graduate School with a Masters Degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling.
