Tara Kochhar

Tara is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student at the University of Western States. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Exercise and Sport Studies. Tara is passionate about helping individuals discover their strengths and create meaningful change. Her counseling approach emphasizes presence, compassion, and collaboration. Drawing from person-centered, and experiential therapeutic approaches Tara meets each client with curiosity and respect for their unique process. She also integrates parts work, trauma-informed care, and nature-based practices, believing that healing unfolds when clients feel safe to explore their inner worlds and connect with what matters most.

She works primarily with children and adolescents, supporting them in building emotional awareness, resilience, and connection. Tara brings experience as a psychometrist working with individuals with ADHD and Autism, as well as hands-on involvement in therapeutic horseback riding programs. These experiences have deepened her appreciation for neurodiversity and the healing power of connection with animals and nature. Outside of her studies, she enjoys spending time with her horse, trying new recipes, and exploring hiking trails.
