Eco-Art Therapy Graduate Student Intern
Profile
About
Dani Deal (she/her) is currently pursuing her Master’s in Art Therapy at Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling in Portland, Oregon, on the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) track. She is also earning a Certificate in Ecotherapy, deepening her understanding of how connection to the natural world supports healing and growth. Dani earned her Bachelor’s degree in Art Therapy from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University in 2022. Before beginning her graduate studies, she spent a decade in caregiving roles with children as an early childhood educator, caregiver, and teaching artist—experiences that continue to shape her grounded, compassionate, and creative presence as a clinician.
Dani works with individuals across the lifespan, with a particular passion for supporting children, teens, young adults, and families. She values collaboration, creativity, and connection, approaching therapy as a space for exploration, healing, and self-expression. Guided by a trauma-informed and strengths-based lens, Dani strives to meet each person where they are, grounding her work in an understanding of how intersecting identities, lived experiences, and systemic influences shape the stories people carry. Through an integrative art therapy and ecotherapy approach, she invites clients to explore emotions, relationships, and personal narratives through creative processes, metaphor, and connection with the natural world. Outside of her clinical work, Dani enjoys exploring national parks, traveling, experimenting with new art processes, and spending time with loved ones
