Jules Rickel

Jules Rickel (they/them) is a counseling intern currently working toward their Master’s in Professional Mental Health Counseling at Lewis & Clark Graduate School. In this program, Jules is focused on a social-justice orientation to therapy, holistic healing, creative practices, and is pursuing a certification in ecotherapy. They work with both adults and youth, with a special focus on neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ clients exploring identity, trauma, self-worth, navigating systematic barriers and inequity, and building a life that feels meaningful and authentic to each individual.

Jules brings a personal and professional background in intellectual and developmental disability (I/DD) services, having worked in roles ranging from Direct Support Worker to Supports Coordinator. Through one-on-one support and advocacy work, they have developed a deep commitment to neurodivergent-affirming care and to honoring the voices and experiences of neurodiverse people across the lifespan.

Their therapeutic approach integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Somatic Experiencing, Feminist Therapy, and Child-led practices. Jules’ work is grounded in trauma-informed care and guided by an awareness of the systemic and cultural contexts shaping each client’s lived experience. They believe therapy is a collaborative process where clients can explore, heal, and grow in ways that align with their values and hopes for themselves. Outside of the counseling room, Jules enjoys hiking, camping, paddle boarding, and creating art.
