About
Robin Hansteen- Izora (she/her) is a counselor‑in‑training who brings a calm, grounded presence shaped by her daily meditation practice, her love of art, and her lifelong connection to the natural world. She believes that healing deepens when people feel safe, supported, and connected—to themselves, to others, and to the land around them.
Before entering the counseling field, Robin spent more than twenty years as a teacher, an experience that taught her to meet people with patience, curiosity, and respect for their unique ways of learning and growing. Her clinical work is rooted in trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and parts-based approaches, and she integrates mindfulness and creative expression into her sessions to support regulation, insight, and self-compassion.
Robin is especially drawn to how art-making, movement, and time outdoors can help clients reconnect with their strengths and inner resources. She values the relational, experiential spirit of Heron Hill and is honored to walk alongside clients as they explore new possibilities for healing and connection.
Outside of her clinical work, Robin enjoys hiking, making art, and spending time with her four adult children and her two very lovable dogs.
