Profile
About
Sophia is an Art Therapy and Counseling graduate student at Southwestern College. She received her undergraduate from Naropa University in art therapy. She specializes in eco-therapy and takes a collaborative, person-centered approach to therapy. Her 500hr certification in yoga and meditation informs a mindfulness-based and somatic orientation. She is passionate about the capacity for nature to heal, and often invites the natural world as a co-facilitator in the therapeutic process.
Through art therapy, Sophia offers creative outlets and avenues for self expression and discovery. Sophia believes in the inherent creativity within each person and the healing power of art to go where words may fail. Her intention is to create a safe, compassionate space where clients of all ages can explore, heal, and grow in their own time and way.
Before pursuing her graduate studies, Sophia worked with women in residential addiction recovery. Some of her greatest joys have come from living abroad in places like India, Bhutan, Ecuador, and Thailand where she experienced ways of being that expanded her sense of what’s possible.
