​Alliance Counseling and The Center at Heron Hill offers sought-after internship opportunities on a scenic 60-acre farm in Canby, Oregon. We welcome interns and practicum students year-round, providing opportunities to work with children, teens, adults, families, and groups. Throughout your internship, you’ll gain valuable experience in eco- and nature-based therapies, experiential learning, and animal-assisted interventions.

Our supervision and training protocols are amongst the best in the area, and we are dedicated to supporting your professional growth. By the end of your time with us, you’ll feel confident and well-prepared to embark on your journey as a mental health professional, with our continued support along the way!

Employment opportunities are available to candidates who are passionate about nature-based modalities and are open to training and certifications from accredited eco-psychology programs. Applicants with over three years of experience in wilderness outdoor living skills, wilderness advanced first aid, animal/equine therapy, or outdoor recreation leadership are also encouraged to apply.

About the Role

Alliance Counseling Center is seeking a compassionate and client-centered Licensed or Associate Therapist (Qualified Mental Health Professional, QMHP) to join our trauma-informed, multidisciplinary team. This is a full-time, in-person position (32 hours per week, Wednesday–Friday) with flexibility to work 1–2 days remotely of your choosing.

In addition, candidates with an interest in working up to 40 hours per week during the school year will have the opportunity to join a primary team serving indigenous teen students from Chemawa Indian School on alternating Saturdays. This Saturday program includes an additional generous pay incentive. 

 

We are also seeking individuals with experience and passion for developing and facilitating programs that support Veterans and members of our Armed Services. This initiative aims to provide meaningful therapeutic opportunities that honor the strengths, resilience, and unique needs of those who have served.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with medical providers, case managers, school staff, and community partners as needed.

  • Participate in team meetings, clinical supervision, and continuing education opportunities.

  • Deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive care to diverse and underserved populations.

  • Participate in Saturday services for Chemawa School teens (optional with pay incentive) during the school year.

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy to children, teens, and families.

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify client strengths, needs, and treatment goals.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using a variety of evidenced based practices (e.g., EMDR, art therapy, nature-based therapy, play therapy, animal-assisted therapy, etc).

  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.

  • Licensure (or licensure eligibility) as LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or equivalent in Oregon.

  • Cultural competency training required prior to January 1, 2026 (agency-supported if not yet completed).

  • Experience working with children, teens, and families is strongly preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills.

  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and cultural humility.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Per-session pay: $45–$70 based on licensure and experience.

  • Additional pay: Administrative time, client late cancellations, and no-shows.

  • Generous Saturday incentive pay for Chemawa indigenous youth program during the school year.

  • Client load: Manageable caseload (minimum of 20 clients/week, lower than industry standard).

About the Role

Alliance Counseling Center is seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team at The Center at Heron Hill, a nature-based outpatient mental health clinic located on 60 scenic acres in Canby, Oregon.

This position offers a unique opportunity to reestablish and grow an outdoor-based occupational therapy program designed to support children and teens through nature, movement, and experiential learning. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of licensure, a passion for nature-based and holistic therapy approaches, and an interest in supervising small cohorts of OT students during their practicum or capstone experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and expand the outdoor occupational therapy program for children and adolescents.

  • Conduct individual and group OT sessions integrating sensory, motor, and emotional regulation through nature-based and animal-assisted activities.

  • Collaborate with the clinical and administrative teams to ensure alignment with agency goals and OAR compliance standards.

  • Supervise and mentor Occupational Therapy student interns in their practicum or capstone experiences.

  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation in accordance with HIPAA and insurance billing requirements.

  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and program development discussions.

Qualifications

  • Current and active Oregon Occupational Therapy License (minimum of one year licensed).

  • Experience in pediatric or adolescent occupational therapy.

  • Interest or experience in eco-therapy, sensory integration, animal-assisted therapy, or experiential learning models.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Commitment to cultural humility, trauma-informed care, and inclusive practice.

  • Additional pay: Administrative time, client late cancellations, and no-shows.

  • Client load: Manageable caseload (minimum of 20 clients/week, on the lower end of the industry standard).
