About the event
A 10-week Eco Art Therapy group for neurodiverse adults using experiential, creative, and nature-based Art Therapy techniques. We will introduce themes of identity, community, and psychoeducation/literacy from a strengths-based lens with the goal of exploring the unique ways in which we navigate the world, encouraging community supports, and working together to build skills and develop internal resources. Examples of art invitations include the co-creation of a nature mandala using found objects to represent feelings and tell a story about participants’ relationships to both internal and external worlds, decorating an “affirmation box” and sharing written affirmations with fellow participants in order to encourage unity and provide a tangible resource for grounding, and creating an “inside/outside mask” in order to “give a face” to the idea of masking and explore the ways in which we navigate social relationships in congruence or conflict to what we are holding inside.
